On the road

Even while I am running like a mother during the day, I take time to notice the beauty of my surroundings. Life is busy, for everyone. So, no matter who you are or where you are, stop for just a second, and look around. You may be surprised by what you see.

Here are just a few of the things I have seen during my runs.

Some may call me stupid others may say crazy. But I don't care because I had a great outside run this past weekend. Yep - it was cold, below 30-degrees, but once I got going I felt great. I was concerned during the first mile as my toes were numb; eventually they thawed out and the feeling returned. My husband and two kids dropped me off at Zou Zou's, a local coffee shop in downtown Chelsea. There, I met my friend Susan and we ran back to my house, approximately 8 miles away. It was great because we had to run fast - to avoid frost-bite. On our journey home my husband and two kids drove by twice and her husband and son drive by once. I guess they we all wondering if and when our brilliant idea of running outside in less than freezing temperatures would melt. But it didn't. We returned in just over and hour and all our extremities were still in tact.

Next weekend I'll start at my house and finish at Zou Zou's with a piping hot latte. Anyone wanna come?
